Implemented this page. Also implemented stuff like italic and bold text. --Janne

Made actual installation of this server into grey instead of just a test installation. --Janne

Instawiki seems to have had a soft launch, probably with the webahead team trying it out, with gradually more adoption. On October 6, 2004, there was casual link in the IBM Community Tools forum at http://ibmforums.ibm.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=324745&tstart=0񏒉:

BTW my colleagues are using the same dynamic groups and getting it properly.

This FAQ tip did not resolve the probelm.

On December 1, 2004, on a blog by Bill Krebs at http://blogs.tap.ibm.com/weblogs/page/krebsw@us.ibm.com/20041201:

Help! I like 'instawiki'. Are there any drawbacks?

Okay, after some research I'm finding I like the instant wiki advertised on webahead. I've setup my own wiki for my IRUP project

I've installed about 5 wikis on my machine some I'm not worried about the technical aspects of doing so. However, care and feeding of an official server takes some effort, so I love the fact that the instant wiki already is hosted on another server.

Should I be worried about anything - like maybe it's an unofficial pilot? It sure seems too good to be true.

Bill Krebs asked on a forum and received a reply from Konrad Lagarde at http://ibmforums.ibm.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=689086&tstart=0:

Re: Can I use webahead's instawiki?

InstaWiki is still just an experiment at this point. Feel free to use
it and give us your feedback.

Wiki Central v2, Confluence was announced sometime before November 2005?

There's a pointer to evaluation criteria that is no longer there, mentioned at http://ibmforums.ibm.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=958290&tstart=0:

Will Morrison led a team in 2005 to compare wiki engines.

Instawiki was announced for sunset in 2006, and it actually happened in January 2007, at http://ibmforums.ibm.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=315673&tstart=15:

[Ann] InstaWiki has been sunset

Posted: Jan 22, 2007 4:18 PM

We have announced this a while ago and several times that we would sunset InstaWiki by the end of year 2006.

As of today, it has been sunset.

We are in a process of archiving those data. So if anyone needs data from InstaWiki, please contact me. This archiving data will be available for this year only.
